Methodology
From watts to your bill
Power in watts is divided by 1,000 to convert it to kilowatts. Multiplying by hours gives kilowatt-hours, the unit utilities use for energy charges.
The calculator uses 30 days for a monthly estimate and 365 days for an annual estimate. Fixed fees and taxes are excluded unless you include them in your entered rate.
